Abstract
Digital health is a paradigm shift in healthcare, and it makes the industry data-driven, efficient, and patient-centered in terms of care delivery. The Digital Age in the realms of clinical and administrative has opened up new avenues to achieve better health outcomes, operational performance, and patient engagement. This change is taking place as the generation and exchange of sensitive health data are on the rise, and that requires well-constructed governance frameworks to protect the data, guarantee data privacy/security, and use. The regulatory tools, like the General Data Protection Regulation and the Medical Device Regulation, are at the forefront in ensuring the adoption of digital health solutions in a responsible manner through the development of data protection, safety, and accountability standards. The innovations in artificial intelligence, telemedicine, wearable technologies, and interoperable health information systems are transforming the care pathways on the premise of facilitating the personalized diagnostics, predictive analytics, and remote healthcare services. The cross-border digital health and telehealth initiatives are also expanding the access to care as well as fostering the continuity and coordination among the healthcare systems. Meanwhile, regulatory and ethical factors are essential in the reduction of risks, fairness, and the preservation of trustworthiness among the population concerning digitally facilitated healthcare services. In this review, the researchers explore the main technologies, regulation, issues, and future trends that influence the sphere of digital transformation in healthcare. It emphasizes the need to integrate technological innovation with effective legal and ethical frameworks in order to achieve a future healthcare system that is more accessible, personalised and resilient.
