Abstract
Dear Readers and Authors,
I am pleased to bring you Volume 15, Issue 3 of Pharmacognosy Communications. In this issue, we present an evaluation of the antibacterial activity of Ficus racemosa L. leaf extracts against the acne vulgaris causing bacterium Cutibacterium acnes. We also present an examination of the anticancer properties of two high antioxidant fruits (prepared from Syzygium australe (H.L.Wendl.) B.Hyland and Syzygium leuhmannii (F. Muell.) L.A.S.Johnson fruit and leaves) against Caco2 and HeLa cell lines. In addition, this issue also presents a review that summarises the current knowledge on the antibacterial, antioxidant, and phytochemical properties of medicinal plants traditionally used in Ayurveda for managing GI infections and diarrhoeal diseases. In doing so, that review highlights gaps in the literature and indicates are that require greater research.
