Abstract
I am pleased to bring you volume 16, issue 2 of Pharmacognosy Communications. In this issue, we present an evaluation of the antibacterial activity of the African species Terminalia avicennioides Guill. & Perr. stem bark extract against some antibiotic resistant bacterial pathogens of human importance. That study reported good antibacterial activity and low toxicity, thereby highlighting the therapeutic potential of the extract. We also present a manuscript reporting strong antibacterial activity and low toxicity for two Australian Syzygium species against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and ESBL Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Additionally, we present a study that reports noteworthy antibacterial activity for a Bidens biternata (Lour.) Merr. & Sherff whole plant extract and fractions produced from the extract.
