Abstract
This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of 432 publications on international trade and border technologies (2009-2025), drawing on Scopus and Web of Science databases. Findings reveal a two-phase trajectory: stagnation pre-2020, followed by accelerating growth (CAGR: 14.2%) driven by COVID-19 and geopolitical disruptions. Research is geographically concentrated, with China, the United States, and the United Kingdom dominating output. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identifies two clusters: digital trade infrastructure and macroeconomic trade determinants. Critical gaps persist around border governance, digital sovereignty, and environmental sustainability. The study proposes interdisciplinary research directions spanning political, social, and economic dimensions of border technology deployment.
