Abstract
Background: The genus <em>Cissus</em> (Vitaceae) is a rich source of bioactive compounds with diverse pharmacological activities. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical profile, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities of <em>Cissus quadrangularis</em> L. Materials and Methods: The methanolic extract of <em>C. quadrangularis</em> was subjected to phytochemical screening, total phenolic and flavonoid content determination, and <em>in vitro</em> antioxidant assays (DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP). Anti-inflammatory activity was assessed using the protein denaturation inhibition assay. Results: The extract showed significant levels of phenolics and flavonoids. It exhibited potent antioxidant activity in all tested assays. Furthermore, the extract demonstrated a dose-dependent inhibition of protein denaturation, indicating potential anti-inflammatory properties. Conclusion: These findings suggest that <em>C. quadrangularis</em> is a promising candidate for the development of natural therapeutic agents.
